We are Western New York’s playground for outdoor fun and adventure. With over 20 restaurants20 shops10 bars, and 2 ski slopes, all within walking distance, you won’t have to travel far to have the perfect visit.

Enjoy great skiing and snowboarding, golf, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Then come back to the village for an amazing mealor to pick up that unique gift at one of our many eclectic shops. Come during one of our dozen festivals and events. The food and fun are enough to keep you here. Hit the nightlife and stay at one of our great hotelscondos or bed and breakfasts.

EVL is a village in western New York. It’s known for its 2 ski resorts, including Holiday Valley, with cross-country trails and a summer adventure park. Nannen Arboretum has paths, a Japanese stone garden and a footbridge overlooking a small pond. Nearby, Ellicottville Village Park offers picnic spots. South, the state forests Rock City and McCarty Hill feature trails and wildlife, including deer and bears.

“The Village” of Ellicottville, although it is only 1 square mile, is full of fun, activities, shops, restaurants and history to please folks of all ages and interests.

Stroll down the main streets and you’ll find a genuinely friendly place. Soak up the down-to-earth hospitality and discover a unique collection of fine restaurants, one-of-a-kind shops, a microbrewery and intriguing galleries. The Nannen Arboretum is a relaxing retreat where you can view unique trees and shrubs or contemplate nature. Ellicottville’s 19th century charm is lovingly preserved in its homes and historic buildings that sit on quiet tree lined streets.

In downtown Ellicottville you’ll find a great variety of very special shops…Indonesian imports at Gado Gado; unique toys for all ages at Kazoo II; natural soaps, foods and health related items at Nature’s Remedy; gifts and cards at Alexandra’s, Ameri-Can a store filled with products made ONLY in the US or Canada, even a store dedicated to just socks, The Purple Doorknob! There is an impressive lineup of high quality specialty ski and snowboard shops plus many more. EVL is truly a shopper’s delight, and not one chain store among them!

EVL is a quintessential small town, and by tradition many of the stores are open from 10AM to 6PM. Here’s a list of stores that are open later: Watson’s Chocolates until 9PM Monday through Saturday. Ellicottville Spirits Monday through Thursday until 8PM, Friday and Saturday until 10PM. Nature’s Remedy, Gado Gado, Alexandra’s and Mud Sweat N Gears Friday and Saturday until 8PM and Adventure Bound on the Fly Friday and Saturday until 7PM.

But if it’s social interaction you’re looking for, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better spot than Ellicottville to whet your whistle or dance the night away. From bistro to disco, from Italian to down-home American, each of our many fine establishments has a personality all its own.
